Had to ditch the pickguard, dice and truss rod cover. DE handle and TruArc should be here Saturday. Question- does anyone make pickup rings out of aluminum with ridges like the plastic ones? B41E0376-0DF6-4CC5-840C-F3A596CB46FA.jpeg

Congratulations!

I haven't seen any ridged aluminum pickup rings. Silver-painted plastic rings might be the closest you'd get.

Super nice. Congrats on the guitar and +1 on the upgrades. Great decisions all of which will make this pretty much a perfect 6120 (except the pickguard, perhaps.)

Congrats, no offence to Mr Setzer but IMO that looks so much better with what you have done with it, dice aren't my thing either so they went on my Setzer model too.
If you get stuck with the pick up rings I think the standard gretsch silver ones would look ok, yes aluminum ones would look better.
Now I want one just to do the same lol.

You can't beat a black Gretsch. It's amazing. I would have loved a custom pickguard in it (black, fer sure) but that's just me, I love the way it looks as it's now.
You could maybe try to find some early Electromatic plain silver rings, but I guess they were plastic, not alluminum. I remember my Syncromatic having them, although they were rooted for humbuckers, but probably some early Pro Jet has them rooted for Blacktop Filtertrons as well. I have no idea if they would fit though.
Just my 2 cents.

Congrats, spectacular!

I have alu gretsch style PU rings. I bought them from @Marv666 who had them custom made.

I had them custom made because the plastic ones always broke on the electromatics.
When i´m not broke anymore i want to order some more from this guy for my epiphone.
I had to order 10 rings minimum and sold the leftover ones.
Here´s what they look like, they could also be made without the 2 extra holes

Sweet! That Black looks REALLY nice! Prefer those G knobs over the dice myself too. ENJOY!
What's weird is I've never owned or been a fan of black guitars in the past at all for some reason, but,
as of late, I've found myself to be quite drawn to them. I keep staring longingly at the G6128T PE Jet in black also.
Such a super clean, sophisticated vibe.

I don't use the dice on my Setzer Smoke '59 either. I can't recall anybody using the dice. For me, it's more about laziness than style. I think the dice would look OK. But I think they'd be clumsy to adjust.
