Really been enjoying this one, when I am taking a break from the Gretsch. I have an idea I am trying out for a little bit of decoration on this one. Just a temporary paper version to see if I like it. Although the actual vinyl sticker will be removable too. Kind of growing on me so far. Not an actual thinline, but just a faux Fender f-hole sticker may find a home on this one. This paper photocopy is just to try it on for size and get the general idea:
I decided that I like the look of the faux f hole well enough to put the actual vinyl sticker on now, it was not too tricky. It has a nice sheen on it that is hard to capture in a photo. So here is my not-really-a-thinline strat: (and heck of a lot cheaper than one) the sticker is actually the shape and size of a Tele thinline f-hole so it may be a tad bit larger than what might be on a Eric Johnson strat. Maybe a little cheesy, but I like it, I mean who ever thought of putting a fake f-hole on a guitar before!
