I’ve read the Eastmans have a great acoustic response and also that it’s partly attributed to a thin lacquer coating. Can anyone confirm either?

Well, I've not done a straight comparison. But it sounds so great acoustically that I've played it less plugged in than not. It's easily the most acoustically musical Semi' I've played.

Eastman claim the hand varnished finish and French polish gives it a wide-open sound. What percentage of the sound is attributable to the finish I don't know but I would agree with it sounding wide open.

Yes, mine sings like an angel. As good as my Terada-built Elitist Casino.

I highly recommend the V59, the ES-335 clone. It is as good as the V64. Beautifully built, great parts and Seymour Duncan pickups. I guess I should do a NGD on it.

Eastman originally was a violin maker. They still make violins and are known for building advanced and high end violins. They have had years of experience with what grades of wood make the best tone. So, building high quality guitars is not really a stretch for company that prides themselves in quality. I had one of their 00 size parlor guitars it had a one piece spruce top and it sounded wonderful should of kept it. You just can't go wrong with the Eastman products. You can go wrong with Eastwood :)

I love a Casino great guitar! I wouldn’t be without one. I have one of the first Elitist 1965 Casino’s when the originally only planned to make 1965 of them. It’s amazing I love it and it will never get sold.

I originally tried to get a Revolution Casino (not the Chinese inspired by) with not much luck in the UK so settled on one of these and I couldn’t be happier with it. I always thought about picking up a second in Tobacco Sunburst but I think the wife would kill me.

It is made in Japan with Gibson parts and I couldnt speak highly of it enough it’s amazing

I hope you enjoy it and thanks for the pictures
