Saw this 64 Harmony Rocket on eBay for a good price and took the plunge for a late birthday present. It sounds and plays fantastic for a guitar that’s been in an attic for over 30 years.

Just completed a few mods...new tuners, TOM bridge, neck shim and repaired the pickguard. I have a B3 arriving next week, someone decided to screw a broken Baldwin tremolo to the body top!

It's great when you can get something like that and it is still a solid, playable instrument. Nice!

I have one of those I paid $50 for at a flea market maybe 20 years ago. Looks cool, not the best player

ufocynjesewlfbk31azs.jpg I had a rocket back in the day. SOUNDED AWESOME, but could never get it to stay in tune. Then, last year, I chanced upon something I was completely unaware of. Harmony re-issued the Rocket (maybe 2011?). Anyway. It sounds pretty close to the original but with all of the gifts of modern guitar manufacturing - like tuning and intonation. And cheaper than the originals. Hard to find, but worth investigating.

Congrats, very cool. Are the knobs functional or strictly for decorational poipoises? :p

Cool. So is it wired volume/tone, volume tone/volume/tone or 3 volumes then 3 tones? Could get confusing!!

Nice! I've been hungry for an H59/1 for a few years now. The few that I have found are on the upper end of my price range. If one came close, I might do something silly like selling my car. :D

1 pickup, 7 control knobs? That is hilarious! What do they do?

They don’t. I set them up that way because I only ever used the neck pickup on a Rocket. I had custom made one pickup harness’ made and kept the three pups knobs. Cool looking Custom H59’s. Rockets aren’t very versatile instruments generally.

Volume/Tone x3. The volume gets muddy when it’s turned down slightly...but is sounds great everything up full. Bridge pickup is also a lot thinner/weaker than the neck/middle pickup.

Fitted a B3 on her tonight and it’s made a massive difference in the feel of the string tension and weirdly seems to have improved the tuning stability. I’m still wondering how to address the thinner sounding bridge pickup though...

Congrats I sold a h54 a few years back .compared to my telecaster it has a really slim and fast neck lol. Like ibenaz thin , but yeah my telecaster’s neck can probably really hurt someone
