    5B99681E-DF3D-4562-BB7D-52F573B66800.jpeg Acclimatizing nicely.
Although i dont know how necessary that is. It came from Bel Air, California (hot), spent 5 days in transit with FedEx (hot and probably didnt see any air conditioning), and now its arrived in Telluride, Colorado, (hot) and is in my rented digs (no air conditioning).
Im thinking i will open it after work in about 7 hours.

I’d give it a good 24 hours before opening it up.

I always do in chicago, and i will if it seems like thats the safe thing to do. I just thought with the scorching temps across the states and the 5 days its been in transit its hardly had anything but steady hot and humid. But youre right. Better to wait than be sorry. I will open it tomorrow when i wake up, which is 24 hours after it arrived at altitude in Denver and 18 hours after i got my hands on it.

If it’s boxed my first step would be to open the outer box lid to let it breath and acclimate. Best of luck! Can’t wait to see it.

I’m bad. I check the day and night temps the guitar has traveled through for the last 24 hrs. Then use that info along with, is the guitar laminate and Poly or solid wood and Nitro be my guide as to how long I let a shipped guitar sit prior to unboxing.

I admire your patience. I do have the advantage of living in a temperate area but I have yet to wait to open a package.

If was hot during shipping and it is hot outside, can you open it outside?

I'm awful on the waiting to open thing. Because I'm in Michigan, if it's cold out I will give a few hours, then open the box and let it breath, then remove the case (if it is not cold to the touch) and give it a little more time. Never 24 hours though. But that's just me.

    You're a better man than I, mbkri!

When I got my PRS guitar a few months back, it arrived with a Sweetwater sticker warning me not to open the box for 24 hrs. So I waited, and then thought that Sweetwater might have been getting returns stating that damage happened after unboxing, and they weren't warned. I opened the outer box, and waited a whole 8 hrs, before opened the inner box, and then the case the guitar was in. Yeah, I admit that I just couldn't wait any longer.

BTW, the guitar is just fine.
