Yep, I love the vintage slotted tuners too. The Mexi-Strats can be as good as anything, I just find them a little more individual but when you get a good one, wow! These days the differences between them are getting smaller and the quality is steadily heading toward 10/10. Congrats again!

Especially Tavo. In his heart, he knows a guitar player without a Strat is like, well, you know, wandering Stratless through the universe, right?

    :p

I've always kind of wanted....no, what am I saying, that's stupid. I've always wanted a Strat. I had one on layaway once, a sweet MIM, black, white, maple. Then my car battery died and ate my electric bill, so I had to cash out the layaway to cover the bill. So many reasons though....Clapton, Gilmour...

One of these days. I already know what p'ups are going in, Duncan Classic Stacks.

As i mentioned, the pickups in the blue one are stock ceramics, i didn't care for them at first but a year ago i picked it up and plugged it in and they just roar now. That blue strat the my supro black magick is just a great tone, to me anyway.
I dig your post though, don't underestimate a strat from this era.
In this video he says the sunburst ones are two piece bodies, because of the burst finish.

I have a sunburst 60s roadworn with rosewood fingerboard . Nitro , beat up and one of the best players. Very Versatile instrument. I’m pretty sure it has the alnico magnets in the Tex Mex which are overwound a bit. I love it!

    Beautiful guitar. Enjoy it.

When I remember all the years I didnt have a Strat' the memories are always in black n' white. You have to have a Strat' to build that technicolour rainbow! :D;)

Rasied the pickups today... BIG difference, stratty tone for sure, but a different flavor from blue, cream pickup covers and knobs are on.
Just waiting for the wider tuner bushings to do the tunes.
