Agreed... it’s off!!!!
Congrats Nigel. One fine looking G5420T you have there.
I keep my pickguards on but I play heavy handed. That one looks good either way.
Yeah, I’d keep that guard off, or replace it with a clear or gold.
And yes, we all need at least one orange Gretsch!
Nice guitar Nigel, congrats!
That guitar is a great score. 5420's are pretty amazing at the price point. Great, great value. I especially love the blue ones.
Orange for the win! That one looks great, and even better without the pickguard. But if you are a flailing maniac like I am, I would recommend one for the protection value.
Nice catch with the TV Jones pickups. Enjoy!
That's the way to buy'em,with the TV's already installed!
Needs a horseshoe on the head though.
Nothing wrong with that. Im a pickguard guy but i think id take it off and rock the heck out of it. Tvjs....Nice one.
Love the TVs! Looking good sans guard.
Congratulations play in good health
Nice score Nigel, I'm with everyone on this and saying pick guard off, it seems to work on this one.
Orange is the best color
Congratulations, it looks sweeeeeet.
And pickguard off looks better.
And now it feels like you just have triggered a new "gas for an orange hollow body" period for me...
No argument from me...
I too am partial to G5420s in Orange. Congrats, Nigel, on a beautiful guitar. Play it in good health and enjoy!
Congrats, Nigel! Enjoy!
I took the pickguard off my orange 5422. Looks great.
Gorgeous! HNGD. For orange guitars with silver guards, I say pickguard off.
