I've wanted a metal bodied resonator for years. I have National tastes but a Dobro wallet.

It will always be a special occasion guitar, like my electric nylon string or electric 12 string. so didn't want to spend £700 on something that would get relatively little use.

Cut a long boring story about how there are no metal resos currently available in the uk. Everything is 2 months waiting list

Managed to get this from Thomann.... Now I can't stop playing Romeo and Juliet (Dire Straits) and Fearless (Pink Floyd).

    Congratulations on the new geet!
    Love the resonators.
Am myself waiting to get a Gretsch Boxcar ...
    Enjoy!

Looks nice, but what is it? (You seem to have left the headstock out of the picture). These are a lot of fun. What tuning do you have it in?

Very nice. Here's my new obsession for future NGD, a National Pioneer RP-1.

If it’s from Thomann it’s highly probable it’s a Harley Benton.

It is a Harley Benton Custom Line Resonator (hence NGD HBCLR)

yes it's only a budget guitar cost £425. But I am semi-retired and can't afford or justify £3000 for the equivalent National.

The CLR is a copy of an Ozark 3515bte model that retails for £750.

The Ozark has fancier split block inlays but the body seems to be identical.

The only 'fault' is the frets need polishing. Which I can do.
