Cos a container arrived. Currently there is a huge backlog in LA and Long Beach ports caused by lack of workers and truck drivers (covid).

They may well have a container waiting to be unloaded. So I'd check the web site every day if I wanted to buy.

What sort of pickups do they use? Not boutique obviously, but how are they voiced?

Here’s the thing with Firefly guitars ime. The Gibson style guitars are great, but the Fender style guitars are terrible. Tavo and I both had the same experience - it was two completely different quality of builds. The Gibson style stuff is incredible bang for buck though!

I have a thinline tele and it's just fine. They do keep improving them over time so quite possible earlier ones were no good but by the time I got mine issues were fixed.

Ours were just a couple months ago. Have you tried the Gibson stuff in comparison? It’s like from totally different factories(which it likely is).

I have 3 pick-up LP and the hollow body as well. I don't see any quality difference between the three Fireflys. Necks are streight, no fret buzz, fret ends are well finished, electronics work, all stay in tune. Tuners are not growers, but they work fine.

What's the problem with your tele?

They remind me of the 1960’s sound. 335 jazz like take 5.

Oh I sent it back. Tavo did too. It was pretty terrible all around. Lol.
Glad you got a good one!

Anyone have insight on the LP pickups? Swap or keep? What to swap with? Already considering a used set to swap in, reviews online show this as the only weak spot on these.

No, but they are slow to ship. Sometimes a week or more. They do returns as well, which I took advantage of with the crap Tele I got. Lol

I’ve kept both of mine stock. They are a little microphonic, but sound pretty darn good! No reason to swap in my opinion. It’s a thick warm humbucker. Not too hot.
