Congrats - very nice! I've always liked Casinos, but last time I tried one of the Chinese made ones was underwhelmed. I'm glad to hear they're doing an up-line one too. Hope it turns out to be everything you wanted!

Killer guitar. It's nice to hear from someone who snagged one. There seems to be precious little out there, and no real hoopla about it. I'll bet not many will sell and in the future these will be highly sought after.

I played a Chinese one months ago, and loved it.

Can't say this one is worth 2k more, but we're joined at the hip now, and she is never leaving me.

I realllllyyy want one of those, but simply don't have the dough. Yours looks great! I noticed that the color you got comes with black plastic pickup covers, and the other color it is available in has chrome ones, which to me is an odd choice not to have them be the same. There is a lot of talk in the P90 community (ha) about how metal covers rob them of clarity.

    Beauty, congrats!
I also didn't know they were making these. From what you remember, how does it compare to the Chinese model you played? I've come near to purchasing one of those a few times. Good enough for Gary Clark Junior.

I do wish they offered these (U.S.A.) in natural and Cherry though. But great that they are making these!

I am embarrassed to say I have no idea what PU sounds better, I choose the model solely on looks, and partially the way the black covers play off the sunburst.

I'm a huge Beatles fan, and wouldn't mind a natural one with the chrome covers.

Collings has a really pricy one (I'm sure its great) in natural with black covers

I played the Chinese one months ago, and thought is was amazing, especially for the price.

I didn't have the chance to A/B them, but its a steal at $650.

Seems that Epiphone stepped it up & started using nickel silver covers that seem to be pretty absent of any mud inducing qualities on the MiC Casinos that sport the metal ones. I was pretty impressed w/ the stock pickups & electronics in my Casino Worn, even more so after swapping to new Fralins as a point of pretty direct comparison. Quick tests w/ plastic covers vs. the stock covers seemed to result in no perceptible loss of bite or clarity w/ the stock covers to my ears. That certainly wasn't the case on my former ~2012 Wildkat.

I still think for $300 difference I would have went with the Gibson. I had a 62 330 and I took the P90s off and stuck on a couple of DiMarzio Super Distortions!! Then I stuffed the body with cotton wool to stop it squealing like a pig. Then sold it anyway because the upper fret access sucks so bad.
    But hey, it was 1977...

I had a Casino coupe with p90's in it in a natural finish--loved it !
    I know--different animal--well smaller animal--and definitely an off-shore model

Ended up selling the coupe after buying an Epi 339 Ultra III--and ended up playing that more--
truly a totally different animal--and sound.

I do miss the P90's though!

    ¡Felicidades!

I have an old ('97) MIK one, with black pickup covers, too. A prior owner did a bunch of cool mods to it. And the best part is, that it was a pressie from bandmates, so it's necessarily got some additional emotional attachment (to say nothing of the economics of getting a free guitar, haha).

    Enjoy!
