I bought this generic Thinline partscaster relic on reverb for a fair price. It has classy top binding, and a great maple capped neck. Not too thin, not too fat.
Here’s what it looked like in the listing.

Here are the photos I took when it arrived.

I’m shimming the neck, adding this GFS Filtertron, and a bigsby.

In my search for a chopped B16 I was offered this beautifully relic’d chopped B5 from @Back in Black.

Once the Bigsby arrives, I’ll be dropping all the materials off with my man Mark Mattos here in Portland. He’s going to help set it up, cut a new nut, and make a new pickguard using this godawful stuff.

No neck pickup, and just one knob for volume.
Gonna be a real rat rod.

I’ve sold off all my beaters so I wanted another knock-around guitar.
I’ve also wanted a tele thinline for some time now.
I already have two T-Types with single coils so I figured I’d finally get myself a plank with a Filtertron. We’ll see how the GFS does. If it’s garbage, it’ll be replaced with something better.
    Stay tuned!

    Thanx for looking.

Looks like a cool project Caleb! Would you mind taking a pic of the Bigsby where it was cut? I have a b5 that I’ve been thinking about chopping

Can't wait to see how that turns out! I had a reissue 69 Thinline that I lost to a pawn shop along with a Music Man 212 when I was younger and dumber. The amp was cool was I LOVED that guitar and would give nearly anything to get it back. Congrats on the sweet find and fun new project!

Sure thing! I’ll snap a pic and send it when it gets here. It’s due to arrive on Tuesday.
However, @Back in Black can probably answer you better since he’s the chopper!

Looks like it, but it’s about as honest as a snake oil salesman.
I feel your pain, man. I pawned an awesome reissue 72’ custom tele back in my wild and crazy days, like the one Keith used in the late 70’s early 80’s. I skipped a monthly payment, and it was history. I miss it so. I’m tempted to get another one someday.

    Thanx, man! Me too! Haha

Nice man! I like the look of the patina'd black & the chopped B5 should be a great addition.

Looking forward to seeing the end product here. I'm still a fan of your Pirate-caster.

    Caleb...

    Gonna be cool!

Remember, you can never have too many vacant screw holes!

    Best,
