Hi, I know I'll find some new friends and some new old friends here. I regret not signing up here when the other site met its end. For those that know me from the other place, 'Hi again and long time, no see'. For everyone else, here's a little bit of back story. I'm an old guy who saw the Sullivan show and had his life changed. Since then, I've been a musician - sometimes on the road full time, sometimes playing weekend local gigs, sometimes gathering rust. My live gig days are long since over, but since 2008, I've been recording multi track covers of various songs that I enjoy. I play and sing all of the parts and try to feature multipart vocal harmonies.

I recently put up a YouTube channel with videos to some of my covers. I am a novice at the video side of things, but I'm having fun learning new skills. There are currently seven songs posted. I plan to add a new video every 5 or 6 days (a new one tomorrow). I have a Tennessee Rose and it's used in a few of the already posted covers. Caveat..... I am primarily a bass player. Seasoned pro guitarists and keyboard players will be underwhelmed. But, in general, the covers stand up decently.

Welcome to Gretsch-Talk, beatbyrd!

It's always nice to "see" new folks around here, and I'm sure that I'll get over to YouTube to check out your vids. I'm also a bit on the older side of life, and although I didn't get my start on a guitar until I was in my 40's, I do enjoy the "learning new things" side of this journey.

BTW, we love seeing each other's guitars/gear, so be sure to post a pick of your Tennessee Rose and any other guitars/gear that you have sitting around.

Aha! Another refugee!
Welcome to the asylum!
Looking forward to hearing some more tunes from you.
I was Wabash Slim---there's a whole big story about that that's just too much to go into now.

If you remember Something/Anything you're definitely in the right demographic for around here! LoL! You'll find plenty of company - and more than a few Todd fans - me included!

I'm older than that...... I remember (and still love) the first Nazz album. I even covered Todd's original Nazz version of "Hello, It's Me". Something/Anything got me into the idea of musician as chief, cook, and bottle washer; playing and singing all the parts, as well as being producer, engineer, and all around gopher.

Thanks to all for the great Gretsch welcomes. I remember a lot of you from the other place.

I'm posting a Gin Blossomes cover video on my YT channel today. My TR makes an appearance.

@beatbyrd WELCOME!! It's been a while but great seeing you hear at Gretsch-Talk and it is really a great place.

Your new youtube channel is another great place and I never, ever thought I would like a Gin Blossoms song....You raised it to musical greatness. What's your secret of an "old man" having the voice of a 25y/o voice? "Bus Stop"?.....Brilliant.

I'll be asking you questions on your recording process. I know just a bit more than nothing so any input is greatly appreciated!

I'm glad you joined but now I'm getting back to your channel! :) 👍
