I was a member I believe in 2005 (aka Bubbalou) or so but have been away for 15 years. Re-registered as Bubbalou88 as no longer used the associated email address and couldn't remember the password anyway.

I have a new 2020 G5440LS Orange Bass coming tomorrow (hopefully).
Anyway happy about being back to Gretsch Talk

Yes, it came 2 hours ago. only had an hour with it but I am more than happy with it. I was somewhat concerned to read reviews saying the neck is too long, Fender P width, harder to play and went back to short scale. Well let me tell you. I have A Fender Player series P bass and yes this bass has a long neck and P width BUT what is different is this bass has a slim C neck profile like my Fender American Pro Jazz bass and even with my small hands this bass is a shear pleasure to play. This bass is beautifully made and looks like it will be a great addition to my arsenal. so far I am very happy. The one minor thing I noticed but fully expected is the output jack is a little weak. Not a problem at this point but like all Asian made jacks they suffer from weak spring action. I will replace it at some point in time with a good USA made Switchcraft. Asian switches also typically fail more quickly due to similar weak spring action to the contacts and as the contacts have been seen to not do a gentile wiping action as they close ( which allows them to self clean)
