Wow, that’s hot... Congrats!
Lighting and camera white balance?
I need to break down and get a better scale that’s not old school rotary. The store told me the Korina was 8 lb 2 oz and it shows 8 on my dial so I believe it. But I picked up the mahogany off eBay, weight unknown. It plops in at 8 on the dial. My guess is about 8 and 1/4 lb.
The Mahogany is a 2018 FSR Offset Telecaster. And the Korina one is a 2020 Limited Edition version. They’re both around 200 made so it’s not too limited to not enjoy actually playing.
Natural lighting from half a curtain open. Phone color was left normal. The color is very close to the photos I selected. I’d say the last ones of the Korina by itself are a little more accurate. It came out a little yellower in the twin shot then in person (at least looking on my phone).
Sweet twosome ,congrats!
Not to feed anyone’s GAS. With everyone that replied back about weight that I contacted in my search. The lightest one that I found was this Korina one at 7.6 lbs. It looks more like ash but it’s Korina and every tree is different. I Like the different grain but I wanted the more common korina straight grain.
Weren't they called Meteora's?
It’s called an Offset Telecaster. They couldn’t use Telemaster because the name’s owned by someone else. I know there was a 2018 Meteora.
And what I believe is the 2020 version.
Its interesting. Not sure why its didnt catch my eye when they announced it. I can see the one with the maple neck set upo for some Keith Richards open G Tuning.
I find it can be hard keeping up with limited editions, pawn shop, and parallel universe ones. That 2018 Meteora was limited to 150 pieces if I remember right. And I believe it might’ve been MIJ.
.... yea right she's growing on me
For a Martin or electric?
Congrats Merc. Two nice looking offsets.
The korina tele really caught my eye when they were announced.
-korina build... CHECK
-P90s... double CHECK
Thinking I'll need to act on getting one sooner rather than later, haha.
Fell in love with that combo ever since I was able to snag a Reverend "Asheton" sig Volcano.
Wouldn't mind owning a Popa Chubby flying V, but not holding my breath for that.
As far as this Tele goes right now, they seem to be just flowing into stores now due to the Rona thing. So there’s plenty to choose from in regards to weight and wood grain. One seller alone just got 10 in on Reverb. Although maybe later in the year you might score a deal if the economy worsens.
Maybe this will help with any GAS.
Thanks. I’m pretty stoked.
The maple neck Meteroa was a US build, the new humbucker guitars are MIM,i actually prefer the Bucker version myself and almost bought a scratch and dent a few months ago,but of course i dithered and missed out....again.
WOW, GAS big time! I so love the sound of P-90s!!
Thanks for the correction. Hard to keep track of all these limited guitars. The Meteora looks cool too. Hopefully there will be some great deals this fall for another chance if you still want one.
You’re telling me... two guitars within a week here. But the bodies and everything just felt right to me on the first one so the GAS instensified.
There are also a few cool Limited mahogany P90 versions with colored bodies made for the Japanese market too. eBay has better photos but here’s some off google.
YELLOW TRANS / BLACK TRANS / CRIMSON RED TRANS / ARCTIC WHITE TRANS
Also a cool blue version on eBay.
