Can someone please let me know the name of this tune? I want a Broadkaster now, not sure how this tone could be any better.

No idea what that tune is....but I like it!
You'd probably have to ask Tommy himself.

Try putting his name in the thread title so that TE fans can listen and perhaps share any knowledge.

Don't know the song but sounds typical Tommy. Could listen to him all day! Great stuff. I have a couple of his TruFire courses but darn I don't sound like that!!!

I wonder if it's all improv .... but then again sounds like a Chet tune

Tune sounds vaguely familiar but I don’t recognize it from the Tommy E albums I’m acquainted with.

That guy could make you just about cry playing Yankee Doodle.

Broadkasters definitely have that tone to live for. I have two and they both sound like that.

It seems Tommy's no slouch on a Telecaster either.

New one on me. I’d say it’s one of his originals; it just seems to have some of his trademark ideas.

Tommy is one of my favorites. I have many of his albums, have seen him live twice. But that's all acoustic. I am NOT a fan of Chet (Chet's music), or his tone... which is odd, since Chet is one of Tommy's heroes. But I digress... I could easily listen to an album - an electric album- of Tommy playing that, with that tone. It is great tone.

FWIW, it looks like he's plugged into one of the Fender "68 Custom" amp series in that video.

Are the Broadkasters centerblock? I'm curious because I have a G5655TG on order... if THAT is the tone I can expect, I can't friggin' wait! I can't get my Hot Rod to sound like that (it has Setzer Sigs)

If this isn’t a Tommy Emmanuel original, the progression makes me think of Merle Travis.

Synchro is most likely right. The amount of boom chick enthusiasts on this forum can’t identify a thumbpicking ditty then it must be unreleased or maybe even improvised.

@ruger9 I hope your next guitar sounds even better, but if you can make any guitar on earth sound like that^ you deserve a raise!

OP here, great responses. In the near to medium future there is another Pro-Line in my future. And I thought it was going to be the 6120 55 players edition. And of course could never go wrong there. But these Broadkasters, wow, not sure why they weren't on my radar before, but they are now. Sound great, look great, oh of course, they are from Gretsch....

The BroadKaster does have a centerblock. It also has "Full'Tron" pickups which are a little higher output than a Filter'Tron.

That looks like a single cut. I thought Broadkaster was a double cut ....
