    I almost forgot.

The three inputs on the Excelsior give this amp another advantage over other amps in this class.

The “ mic “ input produces cleaner tones and more headroom at a louder volume than the “guitar” input.

The “ guitar” input has more juice and breaks up earlier with a Neil Young “ Zuma” type tone.

The “ accordion” input is a much lower volume, with a kind of sweet compression, that can be used for those delicate applications.

With the mods on my Excelsior, the Dr Z Maz Jr is going on consignment at the local music store.
I prefer the Excelsior. Please note the tone knob in the middle, the Eminence Legend speaker, and the 6V6 Groove Tubes. Simple and inexpensive mods radically change the scope and character of the Excelsior.

Have you folks seen this demo. Supposedly no pedals to get this tone.

Do you Excelsior folks get breakup like this? Are you diming it to get this?

Love my Excelsior! I have much more expensive amps but I find myself plugging into it most often when I'm home alone. IMG_2779[1].JPG

nice amps, i had a blonde one a few years back, it was fitted with an eminence 15" speaker as stock, once i'd sorted out a few rattles and fitted some nice valves it sounded great.
    Excellent value for money amp!

    Okay........... I'm thinking i might experiment with some speakers:p
This one gets some cone cry, only at high volume mind you, that don't sound good to me. It's not a bad speaker by any means, i just think it could be better.
    I'm considering a Jensen p15n;)
