I was doing this. and its seemed to work ok.
    Tuner>
    Env Filter>
Mystery Brain >Fluid Drive, Tumnus, SFT in loop>
Spring Reverb and Trem in Carr Rambler

But wanting to try adding a fuzz and Rat, and utilizing the El Pescadoro
    Fuzz>
    Tuner>
    Env Filter>
    Rat>
    Fluid Drive>
    Tumnus>
    SFT>
    Mystery Brain-LOOP ??>
    El Pescadoro>
    Same amp

    Suggestions for MB loop?
Are the Brain and Jr B preamps in the MB and El Pesc gonna work at the end of the chain after a drive pedal or 3?
    Thoughts and suggestions?

I like light to medium drives like the Fluid Drive in the MB loop. I’ve never tried an actual RAT but the Ubangi is RAT based and I prefer it before the MB.

I like a cool, big sounding verb in the loop of my other delays that have them for spacey pads & such, but haven't tried them w/ my surf green MB. I've used the Randy's Revenge in either Trem or Ring Mod ranges in the loop of my Meet Maude quite a bit for wacky/choppy/tubular bell/crystalline type sounding delays too.

I was operating under the impression the loop on the MB was more of an insert between pre & delay rather than as an effects loop for the repeats like the Meet Maude or JHS Panther so my initial plan was to put the rest of the dirt on a loop switcher after the MB's send w/ the time/mod stuff either before the return or after the out of the MB, but I couldn't get it to work.

I have the DC Fluid Drive in the MB loop. My pedal order is the same as @nickurso :
Ubangi > El Pescadoro > Mystery Brain with DC Fluid Drive in the loop.

I'm Brainless and don't understand your set up.

Send it over so I can feel a Brain in action! Lol. I bet that's a sweet sounding trio.

Love the FD, so my wish list is the EP and MB.

    Here's the full pedalboard:
Tuner > Fuzz-Ray > Nailhead > Ubangi > El Pescadoro > Mystery Brain (DC FD in the MB loop)
TC Bonafide Buffer on input and output of the pedalboard guarantees constant impedance load regardless of how many pedals are engaged.

That's only the second "natural" unfinished big-body Nail Head I've seen...the other is in a cabinet in my office. ;)

An overdrive would be the last effect in my chain before the amp. I would vote for putting all time-based effects in the loop.

Actually I have an older Mb without the loop and I really need to get the upgraded model. Also I took the Ubangi off my board because I’m old and travel light and don’t really need it for my current gigs

First run, I believe. I love the natural finish look.

    My rig goes:

    Tuner>
    MB Pre>
    Dirt Pedals (4)>
Keeley Compressor (for late night use only)>
    MB Echo>
    Modulation (first with stereo outs)>
    Volante>
    Stereo Volume Pedal>
    Line6 DD4>
    Aeros Looper>
BF Twin Reverb (L) / BF Deluxe Reverb (R).

I mostly just use the MB's Pre to keep my guitar levels about the same. The volume difference when it is not on going from my Les Paul to Falcon (w/ TV Classics) is significant volume drop, but not so when it's on. Very occasionally I'll go Abby. I'll use the MB for slapback stuff and the Volante for more sophisticated (it's like a cross between a Space Echo and an Echorec) echoes.

    Ok, being a ludite...
    1. Is the loop output(on l side of newer MB's) only for use with an amp with EX loop or does it replace the amps FX loop?
    2. If it replaces it, how do you configure cables - I'm always worried about ruining a pedal.

    Right now I run
    El Pescodor>
    older model MB >
newer model MB with loop jack on left >
    Detroit Casket FD >
    Playboy amp

Dosn't replace the amps effects loop.
I don't own any amps with effects loops, all my stuff goes into the front end of my amps.
The MB loop is just a TRS insert between the Brain side of the pedal and the Delay side. Any pedal(s) you desire can be inserted between the Atomic Brain and the delay functions.
You should have been supplied with the TRS into 2 TS cable with the newer MB.
TRS goes in the side of the MB as a combination send/return. Black TS goes into the input of the pedal to be inserted(or chain of pedals). Red TS goes from output of the last pedal in the loop, and signal flows back into the MB thru the TRS and then into the delay/mod side of the MB.

I made my own cable plugged in. I put the nailhead in there and cranked her up, no sound at all, then realized I needed power, doh! SO powered up the pedals and still no power but alas it was an easy fix had the in and out reversed on the nailhead, another bonehead moment. I really need to label the trs to ts cable. You can insert one pedal or several. I have done both.

sounds like you need a new pair of readers :) :) (sez the guy who tripped over a skate ramp in the driveway in the dark and flew four feet and almost got knocked out, busted up a shin and a knee last week)

Thanks for the explanation. I'll have to get a TRS, thanks again.
