I watched a Woody Allen movie last night - "Sweet and Lowdown" with Sean Penn who by the way gave a very entertaining performance....
Anyway, I am now obsessed with this song and can't get it out of my head. I'm determined to learn it no matter how long it takes....:)

I love Manouche style hot jazz.
I've been listening to Django recently, as well as Pokey Le Farge with his clarinetist extraordinaire, Chloe Feoranzo (that lady is beyond good, and is one of the happiest musicians I've ever seen). Also, check out Barcelona Gypsy Klezmer Orchestra. They all do '30s style music.

Edit: D'OH! Now I've got that tune stuck on continuous replay in my head. Thanks!

This was great. For more inspiration you might also want to check out the Gonzalo Bergara version:

Not to distract from the original thread, but IMO the most lovely Barcelona Gypsy Klezmer Orchestra performance is "Lule Lule" (though they've renamed themselves the Barcelona Gypsy balKan Orchestra at this point):

One of the most affecting performances of the song was by Joe Brown at the Concert for George.

Chet Atkins and Mark KNopfler did a nice version too.

The Concert for George ( Joe Brown version) makes us makes me lose it when the Beatles pic of George is washed amongst the flower petals.

I always thought that The Concert For George should've ended with the Wilbury's, "End of the Line".

I don’t know ..,To George the art of dying brought a new beginning so End Of the Line would , to me, be contrary to his beliefs.. just my opinion
