My boy Loki. 13 year old Lhasa Apso. He was a rescue. Great dog! Awesome personality.
Kinda grumpy but always ready to have a good time. He does a lot of growling and he grumbles a lot but then again so do I.

    Stay well everyone.

So sorry to hear this, the loss of a pet is just as devastating as the loss of any family member. Treasure his memory.

Our Welsh Springer Spaniel Otto just turned 13. My wife briefly floated getting a puppy as a friend who's a breeder for Welshies may have pups, but we decided the old guy deserves to live out his life in peace. The red on his muzzle has faded over the years but he still can get up for a ride. I've rarely been as happy on a daily basis as he is when he knows we're going for a drive. (I do have to lift him into the back seat of my truck though.)

My gal Chupe', "The Dear". I've missed her terribly since she passed away in 2018, after 15 years of pure love. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about her. I live alone, so she was all I had for many years. Sometimes I needed her for than she needed me. It's hard to explain to someone who has never had a canine companion, how deep and intuitive of a bond there can be. If the afterlife doesn't have dogs waiting for me, I'm not going.

She loved to play, loved going on rides, loved the snow, loved other dogs and children, but most of all she loved to run. I would exercise her with my bicycle we did over 10 miles once, and it we were about dead even on top speed sprints. Oh, Chupe', I wish you were still here.

I lost my Lab/Pyrenees a couple of years ago. She was the best dog ever. 125 pounds of lap dog.

The only bad day of having a dog is when they leave. What did we ever do to deserve dogs?

Ok....so this is Lucy. She is an 8yo Red. Spoiled beyond belief but oh well, love her. We have had two other family members who passed and I still think fondly of them both.

That's ok Waxy I don't mind talking, He was 6 and a half.
I'm not really 100% sure, everything was as per normal and I had him with me while I was doing some things in the garage as I do, it was about 5.30 so decided I'd just taking for our short walk track around the block, he seemed himself at the start and was wanting to run everywhere as he does, we got about 50m from home on the way back and he just seemed a bit more tired then usual, I carried him the rest of the way as I thought he may have just over exerted himself but his breathing kept getting heavier, I tried to give him water and held him under the A/C to cool down but he kept getting worse, I put him in a carrier and rushed him to the emergency vet as the regular one was shut but he didn't make the trip, my mum did a bit of researching yesterday and she things his heart may have given out on him, he was a healthy dog according to previous vet visits but yeah.

Thanks Gold Penguin, I hope that day a very long time away for you. I do want to add that I am sorry as I'm not trying to hi-jack your thread or anything like that, I just thought it was nice that you put this up in the time you did, it has helped process things :).
