I think either is fine. The ice blue is a little more neutral and might clash with clothing choices less.

    I have a non-Fender in Burgundy Mist.

For me too, @blueruins : both are fine, in fact !

I vote for Ice Blue Metallic though : timeless and classy...
I must confess that I'm not very fond of Purple-like colors.
I prefer Dark-Cherry, Bordeaux, Wine-Red... I thought that Burgundy would have been in that category.o_O

But It's only my personal taste, OK ? :D

@Brian Krashpad : what's this Fonky guitar and her Fonky pickups ?:)

    A+!

I don't hate either one for somebody else's guitar. I tend to want my strat to be black. Gilmour, Clapton, et al...

Thanks, it's a model called a Choirboy, by the former Sam Ash house MIK brand, Brownsville. The toaster pups are low-output alnico single-coils. Middle pickup is RW/RP for hum-cancelling. Bolt maple neck, body construction similar to Danelectros, with top and back of pressboard and a mystery wood center block. Definitely it's own thing! Kinda like a thinline Strat on steroids. Picked up in a pawn for peanuts.

Pardon the mess. "We're a garage band," as I believe the Clash once sung.

I'm fine with Burgundy Mist ... unless the other choice is any shade of blue.

Another thing I like is to quote Mitch Hedberg. Inspired by the thread title. (You'll see the connection at the end. Enjoy the first joke anyway, one of his best.)

I'm having Englishman refinish and rebuild a 1966 Kay, with sort of the same look and set up.

My dad had a Peugeot in that ice blue metallic. I always fancied a guitar in that colour. I don't do Strats though.

Of the two, I prefer Burgundy Mist, but of late, I have come to appreciate sunburst and natural finishes for everything. I think that the Surf Green finish is why I couldn’t bond with my Vintera Modified Jaguar, had it been ‘burst, it would still be on my wall (albeit, most likely converted to single coil pickups).

Whatever works for you is the best choice.

I’ve owned two surf green guitars and found that the color doesn’t retain its charm for me either. Red guitars look great for others but nope for me.
So far the results of this poll echo my own feelings pretty well. I like Ice Blue and Burgundy Mist just about equal with Ice Blue slightly edging mostly because it is more neutral.
I feel like Shell Pink and Burgundy Mist will be popular over the next several months as the eighties resurgence hits its summits.
Burgundy Mist always reminds me of Ry Cooder ‘Bop til you Drop’ album cover. The guitar is actually Sonic Blue however the purple backdrop gives me that vibe.

I voted burgundy but maybe a tough more red and blue.
