Almost Famous was on the top of my list. It so brought me back to that early 70's era. Crowe nailed it. All my other favorite would be documentary in nature. Rumble (Link Wray) Django ( Sean Penn in the lead part) and a bunch of others.

Rumble. So much more than Link Wray. It'll be good for you.

Why are the audience members not reacting to the music at all? No head-bobbing, toe-tapping, swaying, let alone dancing.

    Makes me think of this:

Yes, they seemed like a good thing, Cafferty's voice matched Pare's image and Pare was rather convincing
    Disassociated artists....

I've worked with 2" video tape reel to reel, and 3/4" carts. Beta was the better video tape format technically, but Sony wanted so much for the rights to use their design that everyone went to VHS. I grew up with 8mm and 16mm film, then graduated to 35mm. I retired as a IATSE union projectionist doing something that I learned in first grade.

    3 assumptions:
    - that was an instruction from the director,
    - they are blues snobs who are here to listen carefully instead of showing off,
    - they are close to panic, stunned by such wilderness from these young lads.
    Really cannot decide which one.

Edit- 4th assumptions: they're all too stoned to react :D

One of the comments below the video said that most club audiences in London at the time reacted like that to local bands. (i.e. Just stood and watched..)

Stop Making Sense, featuring David Byrne and the Talking heads. I don't know why, but I still love that movie.

Blinded by the light based on a true story in which the music of Bruce Springsteen helps someone through their teen years in which they felt out of place coming from a different culture. Parts of the movie were hard to watch since they hit too close to home. Growing up in the US as a first generation, was not easy, but it does make you resilient, and makes you appreciate good people like the ones on this forum.
