Marking AC adapters and pedals?

Searched a bit and didn't spot anyone asking this, what all do you use for marking which adapters belong to which pedals? (Or any electronics, really.) I have two 18V negative tip, one 12V positive tip, and even the EHX pedals want 9.6 rather than 9. I figured a wrap of colored electrical tape near the adapter tip and a bit on the back of the pedal would work well enough, but short of getting a fancy isolated supply with a dozen outputs and building an actual board, I'd just want to be extra sure I'm not frying a pedal.

I don’t, but that’s actually a really great idea! Maybe just a white waterproof marker?

I bought some coloured Velcro cable tie strips that are pretty good for identifying cables. You can get other brands in very small sizes, variously called loop & hook ties or something similar.

You can get little coloured grommets. I know Neutrik jacks have either places to put some colour identifiers or you can change the boot to various colours.

Some cables come with what looks like clear shrink-wrap. I assume you can put a label in there and maybe shrink it.

I usually use an address label and stick it to itself, but those get dirty, come off and leave the cable sticky.

I recall Antique Electronic Supply and maybe StewMac had some products. Let me see what I can find.

I always look at the adaptor, it often has the brand of the pedal on it.

Mosly designed for network cables:

Great idea to mark them. Tape falls off and also leaves things sticky. I instantly thought of the tiny zip ties. Similar to what @Hammerhands suggested but platic. When ever I’ve done something similar I use a box cutter so I can cut the part extending out super flush with the end it snaps through. Maybe you can find a smaller group than this on Amazon.

Just get a small label maker for electrical work from Home Depot or other source. I use one a lot for work and around the house.

I've managed to stay away from pedals that need anything but 9v center negative so far. I was tempted a couple of times by things like a Diamond chorus and an Effectrode compressor.

As a kid my dad had one of these. The embossing type doesn’t flex as well it is a pretty stiff material not so easy to bend around a cable. There are a slew of wireless ones as well that you use with your phone. Just type labor maker into Amazon and you’ll get more choices to choose from. Some more expensive ones will print onto a heat stink label Not just any heat shrink but one that is in a cartridge.

Funny...I just started that project with my toys! Brilliant minds, eh?

I put these colored sticker labels on the connectors of all my cables. Gotta put a piece of clear tape over them or they won't stay on. Comes in red, orange, yellow and green on each sheet. Color code: red-guitar, orange-bass, yellow-synths, green-speakers/misc.
I never unplug my power cables but if I did I'm sure I'd have these on them, as well.
