Who cares about "IMHO"...heck, list 3-7 songs from the 50s, 60s and/or 70s where a Gretsch sounds great or "just fits in." (Feel free to label the; song, artist and year.) This is a selfish post...I'm looking for ideas. I am attempting to tap this treasure trove of knowledge.

The Beatles:
1963, "I Saw Her Standing There" and "Boys" (1957 Duo Jet).
1963, "Don't Bother Me" and "Roll Over Beethoven" (1962 Country Gentleman).
1964, "Words of Love" and "Everybody's Trying to Be My Baby" (1963 Tennessean).
"I Saw Her Standing There," "Roll Over Beethoven" are on my playlist. More wonderful suggestions, thanks! Always thought that "Honey Don't" is perfect for my 6122T CG (...among so many others.)

I strongly doubt a Gretsch was used in any of these songs, but... my 70s solo set I play Maggie May, Lola, East Bound and Down, and Ride Captain Ride. I could not choose a better sound than a Gretsch hollowbody for those type of songs.

I can see it happening; like "Maggie May" & "Ride Captain Ride."

My favorite Beatles tune---"If I needed Someone".
Thank you for widening my horizon. I now have that jingling Rickenbacker 360/12, capoed VII, Byrds "The Bells of Rhymney," echoing in my ears along with my tinnitus. Although it was released on Rubber Soul (everywhere but N.A.), I have it on my Yesterday and Today LP. Now I feel beckoned to learn it. Thank you. Supposedly John was playing a Strat! Hmm.

I absolutely LOVE the songs and the recordings of Jody Reynolds.
I didn’t realize they were Gretsch songs. His guitarist is my kinda player. Kinda simple, but beautiful deliberate lines.

This one is one of my all time favorite instrumentals. Definitely sounds like the guitar riff could be coming from dynasonics.

Haunting. Could be "dynasonics."
