    Weight is relative.
I still got my super-heavy-duty flightcase from the early eighties. T h a t `s heavy, man. In fact it weights way more than the guitar. Thickest multiplex.
Factoring in how old this one is and knowing that a big truck ran over it once (guitar unharmed!) it still looks very nice:

Over the years the inside foam desintegrated and I will have to restore the interieur completely. But I think it`s worth to do.

Wow ! ... a limited edition ..... but why Epiphone why ?? That's great . And now that I think of it , I had a 12 string Takamine in the late 70's that CAME with a yellow liner case

I was exactly the opposite- I didn't know there was an original until they introduced the reissue. The reissue is around 8 pounds, which is around 2 pounds lighter than the originals.

I had never even heard of the Genesis until MF was blowing them out on SDOTD for $299. All four colors were beautiful, but when I saw that Black Cherry, it was love at first sight.:)

Stock Taylor case is 25 year old. Note Gorilla Tape holding covering on edges together. Not shown: broken clasp on back. (case was opened when latch was closed). :)

Gretsch case #G6241FT for my 2622.

This might be the most distressed survivor case I ever saw. It is the original Geibb Gibson case that came with my beloved vintage Flying V. Painted -over in white and gold. The handle is kept in place with a cable-tie. I originally wanted to restore it but I realised that it is economically senseless and the super-funky coolness is o.k. with me the way it is.

    Well, I'm like you.

    This is my favorite case.

It gets opened and closed the most. So far, the hinges are holding up pretty well. Lol

Special order case for a Gibson SJ-200 in 1969 if I recall. Tooled pleather and fake cowhide. It housed my 1955-6120 for a while. (actually over housed) and I had to fill the gaps with towels. A smarter fella after selling the 6120 would have used some of the proceeds to fill the case with an SJ but someone offered me $700 bucks for it and how could I say no. It looks sort of cool for a soft case. But for some reason I think of a punching bag for boxing. Maybe it’s a combination of all the leather and playing too much Mike Tyson’s Punch Out as a kid.

This one. Sold one, had to buy another when the opportunity arose. (Paid more than I sold it for though. :()

I don't have just one favorite, so here are the three that are at the top of the heap.

This was a Gibson USA dreadnaught case that I found at a yard sale - real cheap. It now keeps my Epiphone DR-500mce very happy, and has slightly more room than the Silver Creek case, so the preamp knobs don't rub going in and out of the case. Note the leather handle, so it's a comfortable carry.

I like a nice tweed case, so I actually have two of these Fender Pro Series cases, and one in black.

    IMGP0037.JPG
This vintage style Silver Creek case is cheaper and it's construction is a little thinner, but it looks cool and came at the right price for storage at home. The handle is also leather, so it's very comfortable to carry.
    IMGP0034.JPG

Honorable mention goes to my Taylor dreadnaught case for it's leather handle and solid construction.
