Now I have an SG upgraded with SD Pearly Gates pups it was time to finish off this Doors song that's been 2 yrs in the making. I've shortened up the original to 4:50 mins.

    Kel Martin does great vocals.
Steve Perry nails the keyboards and Mike Dennis is always great on drums.
I do guitars, bass and recording production on this.

    SG plugs into a Mesa Boogie Mark V 25 amp mic'ed to a 1 x 12 closed cab with a V30.
    Don't need anything else.
Mr Mojo will always be rising for me :D

Nice, but honestly I don't like the keyboard sound.

ok why not - too much overdrive on it or something else?

just the keyboard sounds too "electronic" to my ears, I'd prefer a more "vintage sound" Fender Rhodes style

It's played on my Yamaha EW400 using the Rhodes piano setting with a bit of overdrive mixed in.
We tried to get it as close to the original tone as possible.
It's pretty close imo but not exact.

LA Woman was too hard for my basic keyboard skills so buddy Steve Perry played and his style is different to Ray Manzerek. Ray would have used a real Rhodes.

And yes choice of playback equipment makes a big difference too :D

Well LA Woman is still no 1 on the Soundclick song charts after almost 2 weeks.
Thanks to everyone for giving it a push :)
