    What exactly are the plates with the corners cut off in Group 5? Jack plates?

    Noo they're drum badges but ... you can turn them into cool jack plate for big boxes. Good idea actually !

    I actually thought about that a while back, but I've never seen one in person and had no idea how big they are or the size of the hole. Also thought about using one to mount the input jack on a 13x11 5- ply birch tom I'm building a little speaker cab out of.

    Guys, these parts were in the personal stash of Gordon Dow, a long time dealer and collector who passed away a while ago. Gordon and his guitars are referenced in virtually ALL of the classic vintage guitar books from the 90s and 2000s. He had several very cool Gretsch guitars, including a super flamey 6120, a custom color green Duo Jet, and several original 1950's White Penguins (only a handful of those made, and I think he had 4 at one time).
