The only live version of Jeff Beck's Big Town Playboys with Darrel on vocals - Racin' with the Devil, Crazy Legs and a few more, including a great version of the Train Kept A Rollin':

I remember buying this record when I was a teenager in my heavy metal phase and playing it over and over - I remember thinking that I'd not quite heard anything like it. Certainly a different kind of record for our Jeff.
Now it seems that Beck was well ahead of his time in that Marylin Manson style slow death metal sound. Not only that but notice all the "Cat purr" trem flicks during the solo (it opens up with one). Now unless I'm mistaken this was way before Cat Purrs were being used by Steve Vai etc. - Only other guy I ever heard using them this early was possibly Van Halen if my memory serves me right.
So - in addition to everything else, he was "somehow" well ahead of his time in Death Metal and Cat Purrs Hahah :p
Gotta go down as one of the most underrated players ever. Along with Setzer.

For the record, a Pro Jr has a ten inch speaker. And they rawk.

yes they do, i'm pretty sure these were blues Jr.s no microphone/shielding unit in front of them.
here's a video someone shot last night:

'How high the moon' is a standout, i love that song. Both the original and this shows version.

I got it yesterday and watched it last night. The added attraction of Beck showing his guitar collection from his home is worth the price of the DVD. Funny how he let Seymour trade him out of his Esquire for a couple of pickups and a modded Tele.

I agree with the poster, why isn't Imelda all over the TV.
