IMHO, it is already an issue in your head and will always wear on you. The guitar is likely fine as a player, but it will cause you concern every time you pick it up. Just by asking whether to return it means you probably should return it for your own sanity.

Probably not the case here but when there is a ding and a crack one might wonder if they happened at the same time.

Sound advice. If something bothers me about a guitar I tend to think about it every time I pick it up.

Sort of a flip of a coin whether to return or not. How much do you like the guitar otherwise? Can you reasonably expect to replace it with similar for the same $? Just how much will these flaws bother you if you keep it?

Wooow is this a SSL or SSVLO ?? because it's tiger one, isn't she? Anyway, very nice specimen !

Btw, talking back to the hotrod. Because it's laminate body, the guitar's structure is safe. Nevertheless I would recommand a superglue job. Thick Superglue to secure the chip of the headstock, then thin superglue (which flows like water) within the hairline crack (this one for sure will require 2 applications + 1 day dry or accelerator + wet paper sanding above 1000 + polishing eventually by hand).

04 SSLVO. I got lucky with the uneven grains all over.

Going back to the HR, I won’t mind the dings and scratches if the guitar sounds good.

Personally I’d just enjoy and play the guitar. And stop worrying. Only MHO

...just think of it as a starting point for a good relic job in 20 or so years.....;)

seriously if that's the only issue with it don't even think about it just enjoy it....there will be a lot more nicks and scratches unless you're going to keep in in a glass box and not enjoy it.
I have a satin black '13 and love it....great guitar!
