There were quite a few dedicated members over there. What is dissappointing is that there was no notification of any kind about it going offline. Someone on here posted that it is being rebuilt, but tartanphantom's post suggests that its future return is uncertain. As they say in Newfoundland, "....and there is was.....gone."

There is a sign of life finally, a page that says '

Sorry, we are currently doing site maintenance, we will be back very soon ...' So this is a very good sign

That's a good sign. It appears one can access the old threads. The needle has moved!

Gotta be honest, I won’t miss it. There were some stuck up a-holes over there. I have always preferred this forum right here. Y’all are good people. Don’t need the attitude or the drama.

The Wayback Machine archived it. The forum isn't current (of course) but the guitar database is intact as of 4/21/2021

Thanks for the link. I remember using that database when I first learned about Gretsch. If the site doesn’t come back for some reason, it’d be great to get something similar on here.

This site has a lot of potential to become a 'go to' place for Gretsch information. A database is a good idea, but it needs to be done in a way that isn't haphazard, and that takes work and someone's time. The other Gretsch site had issues. Losing everything and not having it backed up was perhaps the biggest mishap, and as others have mentioned from time to time, it could feel somewhat exclusionary or at least, cliquish. It was a little better when the moderator finally decided to curtail political discussions, and offensive language.
