It’s already finished with a very very thin coat of some kind of lacquer. He told me what it is, but I forgot.

Dang it. Getting me wanting to do another Tele build.

I don't need another guitar. First time that's been said around here. LOL

Isn't it . This is my " happy place " . There's something magical about this place for me. You can see a piece of the house to the right of the gate too . Most people would have knocked down the barn , but he's an architect . Look at the barn . Upstairs is his home with the entrance on the left side . ( he rents the house out ) The front door to the right is his office . 2 achers of land . He does amazing work also , check it out ( Weger Architect - Google it )

Nice! As a fellow Maine resident, I've enjoyed seeing some of Mark Mattos' work on facebook!

... that's a cool one for sure! Re-used wood ... cool looking wood ... huh huh, wood ...

Blend knobs are superior to ... everything. Balance pot with no reisistance in middle...?

That is so cool, I love the idea of using old reclaimed wood to make guitars!

    It’s pretty amazing stuff!
A couple years ago we played a show with Sean Mencher. He and I were talking guitars. I told him about Tru-Arcs, and he told me about Mark. It took a little while, but I finally worked up the nerve to order one.
It wasn’t cheap, but it also wasn’t nearly as expensive as one would think for a handmade guitar!

    Looks cool!

There's a local builder over here who built a Tele made from an old oak whiskey barrel from Bushmills Distillery !

That kind of sounds like Danish Pete’s recent guitar made from 150 year old wine barrel.

Outstanding on all fronts, what a great way to honor history. Love the knots, the hardware, and the story behind it. Retelling history through music can't get any better than that.

Any pictures of the horse and carriage stop it came from? I googled but it’s hard to find without the name of the town it was in.
