I bought a Mesa Boogie once, believing it to be the greatest amp of all time.
Always fiddling with the many knobs and sliders trying to no avail to get the sound I wanted.
Then one day, spotted an ad from a guy that had a Twin for sale and wanted a Boogie.
Went round his house, plugged in, and there was the sound I wanted!
Got £100 in cash as well. Deal done!
Used that amp for several years until my age made it hard to carry.
    (Not a '74 though, a '68 reissue).

My late 70s TR was my only amp for about 20 years. It's a big, huge clean machine. Common criticisms of (especially the 135w) is that it's sterile, acerbic and hard, best suited for pedal steel and Rhodes.

In order to soften it up a little, I've experimented with removing two power tubes and disconnecting a speaker, but the better route is putting a 12ay7 in v2 (and subsequently v1).

Only problem using a Twin for keyboards is the lack of deep bass. I used a '63 Dual Showman for keys, but having the reverb of a Twin is a great feature.

I’ve repeated this too many times, but this is how I was taught to set the tone controls on a Super Reverb: [You can keep the bright switch off.] Set the tone controls to 10 and then turn down what you have too much of.

Because if you add something, say bass, and it sounds better you will tend to want turn it up more, to try to add more good, where as you will only remove what you have too much of. Also, the tone controls only cut.

Nice, and it's going to be the cleanest, clearest tone too!
Looks like it came with a castered Anvil flight case... that's extra awesome... Congrats!
