I know that Mr. Vai may not be everybodies cup of tea.
But it is undeniable that he is technique-wise one of the most proficient guitarists walking the face of earth.
I found this recent video of him demonstrating an technique that I never heard before and I am very impressed how effortless it comes across. Be prepared to get stunned:

    Loved that.

I think just the name Steve Vai conjures up a certain image. But when he plays melodic stuff like that.. It's just awesome!

Yes, and I think that it is a bit more left-side of his usual Floyd-Rose and highgain acrobatics.

That was amazing. Vai should never be underestimated or dismissed. He also seems like a genuinely enthusiastic and nice guy.

Vai is one of the greatest innovators. Even at 60 he's still innovating.

You obviously haven't listened to his catalog since his "Passion and Warfare"/David Lee Roth/Whitesnake days..... ?

Have quite a lot of his newer albumes (but some of his stuff way before Roth as well).
But this song was a step away from the typical Vai cliche and showed some unheared (at least to me) technique.
