And I am sorry that my post came across a little trite when I re-read it. Now edited. I tried unsuccessfully to paste the cartoon in the edit - but no luck. Anyway, you are correct that not far from you everything IS north !!

I've always heard of guys with arthritis spraying their hands with WD40. If they were rusty, that might actually do some good.;)

First, you have kangaroos that beat up washtubs, and now you have compasses that point in only one direction? The next thing, you’ll tell me that winter starts in June and that summer starts in December. :)

Seriously, Australia is a beautiful and fascinating place. I have coworkers there and always enjoy the interaction I have with them.

    No kidding?!

My best high school chum's sister must have been magnetic. Every time she wore a battery powered watch, it would grind to a halt. Take it off her wrist and it would start back up.

Reminds me of the old "nickel on the forehead" trick. Nothing to do with magnetism - it's the natural moisture in the skin that holds it there ... briefly.

Of course, some people will believe practically anything!

    Ha!

Magnetic Resonance Imaging ... just sayin’ ....

When the fields vary over time, the picture of what is or is not “magnetic” becomes far more interesting.

I’m rusty at many tasks, and my knees and thumbs could definitely use grease fittings, but I still get a charge.

Sorry about that. Kinda hard to find that gif WITHOUT it. ha.

For those uninitiated, Violent J of the greatest clown based rap groups, ICP, is asking about magnets here... "___ Magnets. How do they work?"

Since 90 percent of our bodies is made of water, you are magnetic for sure.

If you were magnetic, you'd likely be stuck to the side of a truck.

Yep. They swear it works on their arthritis, but I would think it would cause nerve damage. Maybe that's why it stops hurting...

    If my body was magnetic...

    - I would seriously be polluted by the RF, AF and Mains / HV fields.

    - I would behave like a Klystron Reflex, a 6L6GC, a Variac, a brushless portable drill, an EVM12L...

    - I would be covered with iron and steel chips, dust, filings, scrap.

    - I could not approach a tool box, except if I want to be a toolbox myself.

Not a very attractive situation, finally... :(o_O;)

    A+!

I've heard that tale as well. WD stands for water displacement, so, who knows, maybe?
Or, like the old Greek guy said. "Put Windex on it."
The way my hands and back have been feeling, I'm wondering....

Walter Egan may be the epitome of wimpy 70s soft rock in this video in the beginning, then he gets creepy. The solo is so lethargic, it's no wonder people are dancing in slow motion.

(Stevie Nicks sings backup on the original recording but not the video. Might have made it better if she appeared.)
