...orange! If not officially yet, regarding to the number of my posts on the forum, but emotionally. Namely this '03 G6120W-1957 is such a great companion to me now. I've had it since October 3rd 2020 and now we're really, really starting to bind together. Too bad I haven't got anyone to play with but my own shadow. And that robocop style leg orthosis at the moment, of course :D.

The guitar has but two certain mods, the Duane Eddy Bigsby handle and a Tru-Arc Serpentune bridge. I'm not sure about the nut though. I don't remember if the seller said something about it, but it looks like it could be made of bone.

I'm using Pyramid Gold 11-50 flatwounds now, they give a nice, mellow bluesy tone and are friendly to the fingertips. Almost too bluesy as I tend to play blues scales mostly now, but they give nice country-rockabilly tones too, when I'm using the bridge pickup.

This is my fourth Gretsch now and the one that I've liked the best so far. I'm so happy with it, and the other gear also!

That is one of the classiest, most quintessential orange blooded juice box's out there.

Cool guitar. In the last year I've come to really like the Pyramid flats also.

Thanks for sharing the eye candy. Truly a thing of beauty. It does take a little while to really get the feel of a guitar doesnt it? Theres the initial “wow” factor and the excitement of the new capabilities when you first get a new guitar, but then theres that period of feeling like its more and more “yours” as you bond over time.... or not. Those are the ones that i move along after ive given them enough time to realise they might be great guitars but not a great fit.

    Jus beautiful JH,

I do love that PU combination.

I have only one guitar with dog ear P-90s (John Lennon Casino), both of my Jets have Dyna's, I wouldn't want them any other way.

That's awesome you have a guitar that you truly love, no matter what brand it is or how much it cost as long as you love it you will play it.
A real looker too, I sometimes think I would've preferred a simple orange 6120 over my flame top sometimes when I see one like yours.

Thanks guys! I used to have a '13 G6120-DSW with Dynas, but was forced to sell it in 2017 and chose to keep my Anniversary back then. They both were great guitars in their own way, the Anniversary just seemed to fill my current need better then. But the desire for an orange Gretsch with the Western motifs stayed. A friend offered me his G6120W-1957 a bit later, but I had no extra cash. I had wanted to try an EC model for a couple of years and finally this one came up last October with a chance to a swap, which we then did with my Anniversary to the sellers 6120. So I'd say it was a long wait worthwhile :).
