    1. Most guitars owned at one time = 20
    2. Current number of guitars owned = 20
    3. Less guitars owned at one time and for years = 1 (see below)

Two of them (included in the 20) are currently in the hands of a luthier pal... For several years already ! I hope he will finish them before I die... o_O

    A+!

    1. I think 7 or 8
    2. 5

I tend to rotate quite a lot and there’s a couple I’ll never lose. What I found is that when I have a few more, they tend to languish in the corner for months and then I feel greedy for having them and not using them so selling and trading begins until that happens all over again!

I also get really bad GAS for nice limited editions etc, but then I get them and realise that it’s not what I REALLY want. Maybe there’s a reason you never see a pro playing a super deluxe tele live...

I knew I had a serious problem when I sold my D-42K for more than I paid for it. The good news is it was my beater guitar. The bad news is my better half went out the next day and bought a new bedroom set. This post has helped me realize that every guitar I have ever purchased was an impulsive buy. We still have the bedroom set.

If anyone has the 1973 Martin 000-18 (SN 333070) and could part with it, I would pay a premium price (plus the finders fee). It was my first guitar, and I spent all of the money I had saved for college on it. It's been downhill from there.

    Oh, look! A White Falcon...

I have four production guitars, 6 made for me, four made by me, so 14 now, but three will likely be for sale soon. However four more are in various build stages.

    Most ever: mid 20s.

    I believe my count is:

Most guitars owned at one time = 28
Current number of guitars owned = 23

But there are several I'm thinking hard about selling and only a few that I'm thinking about buying. :p

If you don't count the 3 that are on consignment, and I don't, because they likely won't come back (the first 14 that went that way found new homes), then 41 is the current number (including a bass, a lap steel, and a mandoguitar), it's nice to not be tripping over them due to inadequate storage capacity, and if unemployment continues, more will probably have to go. Highest number at one time was 51 or 52, I think. Not feeling the need for any more, but that's always subject to change, though that may be kept in check by funding limitations.

UPDATE: There are 42. I've got one that's been in the shop so long, I forgot I owned it. Someday it'll be done and I'll get it back.
