I know theres a mix of members here that includes collectors, musicians and hobbyists of all degrees. I thought this may be interesting and telling of fun GAS.

    1. Most guitars owned at one time
    2. Current number of guitars owned

Nine, in both categories---all the same. Most are playable.

Oh, yeah---five keyboards, two PAs, and far too many speakers.

    1. 30? I don’t really know but never higher than that.
    2. 21 or 22, not sure. I live in two states and don’t know if current builds for friends and restorations count.

I’m ready to dump 3 or 4. But plans to get 2 or 3 more....so...you know... its a phase. Eventually I’ll figure out that 3-5 guitars were all I ever wanted or needed. Plus 10.

    2. Eleven

Didn't want to go past ten but if I don;t count the damaged 12 string accoustic that is more or less home decore then I am at ten lol

Added question of how many get played regularly? Eight of Eleven at the moment

    Most ever? 50.

Now? 31. And I truly aim to whittle that down. How you do that by buying more guitars, I have NOT yet figured out. But it’s my aim!

    9 max, currently 8

    4 acoustic:
    • 6-steel string folk dreadnaught
    • 6-steel string travel size composite
    • 12-string jumbo,
    • 6-nylon string classical
    4 electric:
    • homebuilt Tele
    • homebuilt Precision Bass
    • 2 Gretschii: one thin hollow 12, one thin center block 6

don't really have the space for more. But I could really use a strat one of these days. I had a 1980's Yamaha strat but had to part ways with it to make space for a Gretsch.

Most, maybe 8 that I bought.

Present. 7 total. 5 that I bought, 2 that were "won" at Roundups.

    1. 4 electrics+2 acoustics=6 total

    2. 4 electrics+2 acoustics=6 total

i've never had more than that. the lineup has remained unchanged for the past 4 years. my son uses one of of my guitars all the time and a friend has had one of my acoustics for the past three years, so it feels like i need more :D

i tend to favor my tele but right now it's been the 6120 for most of 2020

    1. One less than I need.
    2. One less than I need.

It’s about two dozen or so now. I like to find ones I think I’ll like, mod them to where I know I like them, and at some point sell them off when I stop playing them.

Every now and then I’ll end up with a long term keeper.

The ones in permanent rotation are a Nocturne Rooster, a Gretsch 6120 Smoke, a Gibson Hummingbird, an old Tele that hardly has anything original on it anymore, and a Jazz Bass.
