40+ years working on stages doing this stuff daily and I agree with you. Played a B-3 for years as well. I was on a first name basis with my chiropractor. (I wonder how many horses I bought him.)A Leslie, b3, two svt 8x10s and svt heads two 2x15 showman cabs almost every night for months at a time. Plus all the other stuff. Thank God for Union stage hands Lift gates & loading docs and roadcases on wheels. I don't think I would have survived otherwise. And yes now I see a chiropractor regularly.
Try lugging a Strong Super Trooper or a Gladiator up stairways. 35mm projectors aren't much fun, either. The power supplies are even worse. We had an early vodeo projector, a Talaria, that weighed 800 pounds. Couldn't get enough people around it to easily lift it, much less carry it up a narrow staircase.
