That said, while they do not produce much guitar in LH (notably the Julia :(), Duesenberg guitars offers excellent Lefty tremolo devices - I installed 4 of them with success on my instruments :) :

Look @Waxhead - even in Lefty - and a quite odd model - too bad it's not the Julia :(...

I seem to remember some time ago Reverend eluding to their guitars originating from the same Korean factory as Duesenberg. I thought it was MIR but so long ago now I could be mistaken.

I am a neighbour of Duesenberg because I live 30 kilometers away from them (Hannover, Germany).
Atze Goelsdorf, the ovner of that company, was the original Founder of Rockinger guitars from which I bought some custom builds in the early eighties.
Next step were two pointy metal guitars under the moniker "Duesenberg" from which I bought a super-Strat type in the late eighties.
These where all made in Germany completely. I know because one of the original builders was a friend of mine.

I have no idea where he scources his basic wood builds today. As I heard they where all build in far-east and finally assembled over here.
If this is true he obviously has an incredibly margin selling them at this very high pricepoint.
I do not feel comfortable with this. It feels somehow shady o me.

There is nothing not to like about the general construction an QC of them.
    Just my humble opinion.

Tony, I think that is what used to be referred to as honesty, integrity. I just can't knowingly do business with any company that is evasive with where it is made. Either they have some real incompetant deceptive marketing people or the deceit is by design. Anyway, they have never perked my consideration because of what I see as deceit. They don't get my consideration or money because of it. Lot of real quality Gretsch, Fender, and Gibson available at that price point and a ton of very well quality built Korean, and Chinese guitars for way less. Eastman just being one of them.

I agree Raye. Eastman claims to deliver an excellent instrument at a reasonable price and they do exactly that. While the premium parts that go into their guitars are superb, the woods they use is great and the workmanship they exhibit is really well done.

My T64 is a Casino by any other name and it is very, very close to my Terada-built Elitist Casino at almost half the price. And they don't mind telling you that it's (beautifully) made in China.

I've played Duesenbergs and they play and sound very good but like you, I am uncomfortable about the "mystery" of their origin.

There is one Duesy I have on my wish list--
    A 49er or 59er Outlaw!!

For some reason the fake alligator hide on a chambered solid body has a somewhat classy bad boy look to me.

But not at the prices they request!
