    That is the shizzle.

As others have said in another thread, it's very much a surrogate ES335 and so might not appeal so much to Gretsch traditionalists. But to's the shizzle.

I was about to pull the trigger on a Gibby Custom Shop 335 with P90's, but I think I'm gonna take a good close look at this instead. Thanks for the heads up!

I really want to like it, hell I want to want it but for some reason, I just don't.

Perhaps I'd love it in the flesh but does anyone else think the samples sound a little generic or bland?

So Gretsch is finally making the guitar Chet always asked for?

Thats what I thought too, about him wanting the solid wooden section on the Country Gent, to cut feedback and enchance sustain. its a real gretsch too ;) keeps me thinking of Chet for that.
Would be called the Chet or the Chester;)

You're not alone Dazz, I find it too linear. So +1
This panther lacks a strong gretsch character !

Btw, I'm waiting somebody flesh test to confirm this definitively.

Nice looking guitar, but it doesn't do anything for me, tone wise.
Guitar was a bit out of tune in the demo ..
Think I will stay with Gibson's 335 for a chimy sound!

Or biting Hofner's Verythin style. I love that white one. I was debating a Verythin but this gives me pause. (or... wait for it) paws?

I think it's funny that they have guitars that are "white panther" and "black panther". Those might be more politically charged in the US though.

    Another one:

I got to hold em and fiddle.. a bit too heavy for being a thinline but they rock. The falcon was the sexiest but the thicker guitars rock the best. I'm a fan of big bootied... gretsch guitars ;)

LOL. I would buy a Pink Panther. It would have to be pure pink though. None of this half-cocked cherry blossom nonsense.

Totally different! Don't confuse man salmon with cherry blossom. Gretsch needs color PR to keep everyone sorted.
