I’m starting off here to state that I am old fogey...though I do enjoy looking at different color Electromatic guitars, I simply can not feel the satisfaction of seeing my simple 5622T Electromatic in Vintage Orange. I’m not talking about the orange color of current models. The vintage orange lets you see the woodgrain. The grain streaks, bird eyes, tiny knots....etc....and gosh, they do call it vintage for a reason. Though I have five gretsch guitars, that 5622 plays as well if not better than my two “Pro” models......come to think of it, the three Electromatics get more play time than my 6120 Orange TFM, and my 6122 in Amber TFM. I have to make a couple of mods to the trems, I think the spring change some people have recommended could be of benefit. The other colors might grow on me , but the Vintage Orange is my favorite....I guess I can mention that I also put a lot of play time on my Epiphone Elitist Chet Atkins in , you guessed it, Vintage Orange. I think the Fairlane Blue, the White could grow on me, along with the Bourbon Stain. The Orange on the 6120 is tolerable, it is a little closer to a Vintage Orange than my 5420 in Orange. For some reason, I prefer my Electromatics when playtime comes .
