I’ve owned a Gretsch G5230T Jet Electromatic for a while now and want to change the pickups. I know the tv jones and the filtertron pickups are great for the hollow bodies but not sure if they will sound good on my guitar. Any other pickup recommendations are welcomed!

Gretsch HS Filtertrons or any TV Jones style Filtertron will be a direct drop-in replacement for your guitar. I would be curious to hear a Power'Tron in the bridge with a Mega'Tron in the neck.

I've done that on three separate Jets. No complaints from me. At all. None. Good luck!

I put a TVJ Supertron and Classic + in my 5420 but decided to keep the BTFT’s in my Double Jet. I did replace the original wiring with a custom harness from TVJ, which REALLY opened and brightened up their tone. You may want to consider doing the same - then replace pickups later if you’re not satisfied. My BTFT’s aren’t going anywhere!

I wanted more sparkle from a TVP Power Jet and for me it was a toss-up between TVJ Classics or HS Filtertrons. I already have anther guitar equipped with classics so opted for the Filters in both positions. I have absolutely no regrets - the sounds are exactly what I could have hoped for and it is now my go-to guitar.
If it already had a TVJ harness (?) then perhaps I am now reaping the benefit.
Good luck with whatever you decide.
