Was there more than one?
I'm with you Merc and would go the anniversary but in the white and brown, still going back wards and forth in my head to whether I am going to buy one or not, will mean something goes though which would be too hard to decide . Powertrons would be going in it if I got one.
But realistically I would most likely end up with a White ratrod and put some P-90's in it to add something different to what I already own.
If these came in black w/ gold hardware, that's replace the Black Falcon for me. I love that tortoise. too. Would look killer on black.
The 89VS has about everything I would want on a Jet. If I were to play one that felt good, I am sure I would buy it.
My impulse would be to say a G6120TG or a Players Edition Tennessee Rose.
But for something that covers ground that none of my other guitars do, it would be this G6228, and it would absolutely be in Cadillac Green:
A 6128T-57 Duo Jet in Cad’ green, the “thinking man’s Tele”. I occasionally miss mine. Frankly, it’s the only thing in their catalog that I would want to add to my collection.
any of these:
if I had to pick one...tough call.
I haven’t seen the catalogue but without hesitation a White Penguin.
That’s a fav of mine as well. Just to play along I’ll pick the Gretsch G6119TG-62RW-LTD Limited Edition '62 Rosewood Tenny
Well, I just bought this Brian Setzer Smoke and a 59VS Duo Jet with a very generous bonus I received at work (never had a bonus in 40 years of working before but I think I could get used to it! LOL!). The last one I would LOVE to own is the VS Country Club. That big body and Cadillac Green is drool worthy together on that guitar!
It’s a well earned bonus if it brings home two great Gretsch guitars… congrats!
Here’s the current white Penguin being offered… Vintage Select 58. It doesn’t get much better than that.
My first pick was actually was going to be the Smoke Gray and Violet Ltd Penguin that’s still listed on their website. But I kept it with what was attainable for me price wise. And I may actually pick up that copper G6118 this winter as I need a hollowbody Gretsch again. I sure do love Penguins though.
Love that White Penguin… thanks!
A most excellent choice!
Too much dust here on the ranch for it
to hang on the wall.
If an option, it would be cool to see the same guitar sans Bigsby. I like the 6228’s clean look.
And that’s my pick for current guitar in the lineup. But probably, I’d get a Penguin...or a Falcon...or all of them.
Why do double-cut guitars look odd?
I dig the Malcolm Young tribute.
But that’s the only one I can stomach.
I used to feel the same about double cuts. Not anymore. A Panther is extremely desirable in my book.
Love that color. Hey Fred, a Blue Falcon Centerblock, Azure Blue Metallic, tortoise guard, w/ gold hardware please. You're welcome...
Yeah got to be a Smoke. Haven't actually managed to play one, but on paper they tick a lot of boxes and the reviews are great too.
