Gretsch Electromatic G5655TG output too low

    Your 5655 has Blacktop Broadtrons yes?
    These are low output humbuckers (not a filtertron).

    It's one reason I don't want these Broadtrons.
    The Blacktop Filtertrons are higher output and deliver the traditional Gretsch tone :D

    I've got a G5655TG as well, but I really don't have much of an issue with output, myself. Although, I haven't experimented with any other electrics to test it against other than my acoustic electrics, which aren't a good comparison. When I crank the gain for some grit I get all the power I need, personally.

    My new 2655 was ridiculously low output, that lasted about 2 minutes. The pickups were at least 4 times lower than the standard recommendations. Once moved they were fine.
