Hi all, I'm new to the forum. I've been playing guitar for more than 50 years and am still gigging with a classic rock band. I have a number of guitars, including LP's, SG, Strats, Teles, ES-335, Martins, Ovations, Taylor, PRS and a couple of Epiphones. I've owned a number of Gretsches over the years: A Brian Setzer 6120, a Country Gent., a Chet Atkins Tennesean, and a Super Chet. At this time, I don't own any of them anymore, however I just ordered a G6119T-62, figuring that at this point in my life, I shouldn't delay getting my hands on a guitar like the one George Harrison played at Shea stadium. I like to do basic adjustments and maintenance on my guitars and 2 years ago, spent 2 weeks with a fine local luthier and built a beautiful dreadnought, with alpine spruce top, rosewood sides and back, mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard. It came out beautifully. I look forward to sharing info and asking questions of you all.
    Best regards!

Hi Bob and welcome to the forum . Ahhhhh , the New England area I see . My favorite place as I'm looking forward , I hope , in a few short years ( 2 ) to retiring to Maine . I've often wanted to visit Lunnenberg , Mass. ( I think thats the name of the town ) Long story , haven't been there since I was a kid in the mid-70s . I'm in the lower Hudson Valley of N.Y. Well ....... we're practically neighbors :p

@StratmanBob I’m not sure you have enough credentials to join here

    Let’s see..
    • you have been playing for 50 yrs, that’s not bad..
    • You have a band and have been giggling for decades. Ok I guess
    • You own 20 or 30 guitars.. ok again
    • You have owned Gretschs, so...
    • You just ordered a Holy Grail type Gretsch, really
    • You built your own Dreadnought acoustic ...Not bad

I guess that’s not to bad; we can let you in on a trial basis if you commit to getting some relevant experience.

    Welcome. :D
