Well , after @Randy99CL UFO thread and all the other " Are you done buying ------ " threads , how 'bout some ghost stories ? Got any ? I could watch this thread all day if I could ........

    On a personal note :

The night my mother died some 35 yrs ago , she died at the home I grew up in ( Dad is still there , he's 91 this Sept . ) ...... I woke up at 2am , looked right at the phone and it started to ring . My sister was on the other end to tell me my mother had died . I drove right over to say one last good bye ( I was 3 miles away ) I met my sister in front of the house and she said " she's gone " . I walked into the house , walked up to the top of the stairs . Turned left and walked into my mothers room , looked at my mother as she lay silent .....felt her spirit walk right through me as if she wanted to say on last goodbye to me ............

So , tell me ........ do you believe ?

We lived in a house in New Hampshire from 1965 until 1992 that was built in 1767. The house was haunted. There were three ghosts that I experienced, one that I spoke to and one that was in the former carriage house. The one in the carriage house put the horse in every time we were away and it began to rain.

After we sold it, the new owners had a Poltergeist.

For three or four evenings in the summer of '87, two of my best friends and I used a ouija board. Mary Jane Parke communicated with us even though she'd been dead for over a hundred years. The marker was flying around the board spelling out sentence after sentence for hours. Occasionally, a rogue, joker spirit would take the 'line' from her and be very confusing until we surmised what was going on.

Mary was very articulate and we would pose philosophical questions for her to answer. I wish I still had the notes we took, but those are long gone.

On the last night, it was getting late and she abruptly went to 'goodbye'. She did this several times, back to back. I checked the time, it was a little before midnight. We asked if it was dangerous to be doing this at midnight and she immediately went to 'yes'. Frightened to our core, we got the heck out of there and back to town as quick as we could. None of us wanted to test her warning.

I don’t believe in ghosts. But I sure believe in demonic activity posing as whatever the heck they want, including ghosts. Stay away and do not open doors to things which you do not understand(would be my strong recommendation to my friends), for the good of yourselves and your families.

Now I will step down from my soapbox. Lol.

When my dad passed in 1989 the future MrsWookie and I flew to Pennsylvania to manage his affairs. The first time we entered Dad's apartment (where he had passed) I turned on the light and it flashed brightly and repeatedly before burning out. It was like the usual incandescent bulb burn out that all of us over a certain age have seen a dozen times or more, only it flashed at least 5 times over at most 1.5 seconds. I believe Dad was saying good-bye.

There are somethings that happen in life that are unexplainable otherwise, but who really knows.

Pulled this photo from on line of where my experience occurred.

We stopped in Glasgow in Scotland during a family trip. Had to stay in a castle since the opportunity was there. So Culcreuch Castle it was. Built in 1296, it was supposed to be haunted. Being in my late 20’s I obviously got a separate room from my mothers which was across the hall. We both went to our rooms to put down our luggage. My mother came to my room so we could head down to check out the place. Before leaving the room I commented how hot the room was. So I walked over to the old school heater by the window and clicked it off. I locked the room door while leaving. Fast forward to the middle of the night. There was this weird feeling like someone was watching me and I kept waking up in sweats. Got out of bed in the morning and the room was a soooo hot. I noticed the heater was now strangely on full blast so I turned it off. My mother knocked on the door shortly to tell me they were headed down to get breakfast. She entered my room and the first thing she commented on was how hot it was in my room. Not super scary but it was very odd with no real explanation. The rheostat dial even made a clicking noise when turning off.

    Not ghosts..But..

My mother was a very down to earth person, nothing strange or unusual in her or her beliefs, with one exception.

The story she told of being 17 yrs old and driving back with her friend from the swimming hole one day and stopping the car out on the country road and turning to her girlfriend and saying, “Joe is dead”. Joe was the youngest of her 9 siblings and was back at the swimming hole they just left. They turned around and went back. Joe had dove in head first and hit his head on a rock and died after they had left.

I’m always doubtful of paranormal stories until I remember my mom’s story..

I’ve got a few of’m. I’m careful to display a healthy dose of scepticism. Just being pragmatic, some knowledge is pointless in this society. I refuse to become a weirdo ambassador for the supernatural.

A buddy of mine emigrated to Poland and gave me his movie collection burned on CDs. I copied everything on my hard drive and started watching. Just randomly picking titles.

Every movie I watched seemed to contain some kind of message. Either answering a particular issue I was dealing with or giving bizarre signs or messages. I was sure I was imagining things.

One day I picked a title called Stigmata. The next one, picked randomly from about 200 movie titles, dealt with the same thing(Stigmata was not in the title). Wow I thought what are the odds, quickly glanced at the palms of my hand and discovered a bleeding cut in one of them.

One day I was watching a movie featuring a little girl and a red balloon. One was chasing the other(can’t remember) Later that day I cycled into town and at one point passed a plastic grocery bag. It started to dance along side my bike for 2 long streets and even followed me crossing an intersection through other traffic. Ok maybe some weird vacuum created by the bicycle right? Until I got of the bike, and the ff-in bag followed me into a shop.

    Every movie…

My wife and daughter both claimed we had a spirit of a little girl in our old house. Folks that used to live there mentioned it to us as well, without our prompting them, and described the girl. They asked us if we'd seen her. So, could be. They also claimed to feel a lost cat brushing up against them, just sort of checking on us after the critter had passed away.

I'm a pretty skeptical kind of person. Still, there are some things that happen that defy rational explanation. I figure that eventually e'll all have the answers to all of our questions when we cross the Rainbow Bridge. Or not.

The house I lived in when I was in high school was located on the banks of lake Butte des Mortes, French for "hill of the dead," so named because of the Indian burial mounds surrounding it. While doing some work, we found human bones (confirmed by a friend's physician father). We didn't know if they were Indian, or overflow from the cemetery about 100 feet away. Not saying I'm a believer, but there were definitely a couple of unexplainable spooky incidents that happened at that house.

The Keller & Leleux pavilion, built in 1912... Known in our region as "La Maison Keller".

I know this intriguing, austere and curious house since my childhood... I never entered it, though, since it is a private property and more or less inhabited by "an old Lady" :

Charles Albert Keller was a rich industrial, specialised in electricity, gaz and Aceltylene production in the Romanche valley (Alps region, near the city of Grenoble) :

I think that the pictures speaks from themselves...

And this house came to celebrity in a movie called "Les Rivières Pourpres" ("The Crimson Rivers"), an excellent French dark thriller with premium actors :

Here's a screenshot from the movie, showing La Maison Keller, as the House of an obscure sight scientist...

I have a copy of that movie - how many times I saw it ?

My home growing up in northern NJ. Some doors have their own sound when you close in you know which door was closed by the sound they make. However, they should not make a sound when I am the only one in the house. The door to the laundry room apparently made the noise and after catching on, would leave it open. When I heard the noise, every time it would be closed.

Phantom footsteps heard coming from downstairs.....hard-soled shoes when no one was home. My mom and siblings suspected it as I did my girlfriend (now my wife) when she stayed over.

I have a friend with a great deal of $$$ who has a great amount of equipment. ..... TriField meters for measuring magnetic frequencies, laser grids, and whole infrared devices of many kinds, etc....

    1) '76 House Tappan, NY - One of the oldest taverns in the U.S. and prison to Major John Andre (British Army and "fellow spy" with Benedict Arnold. After the failed attempt to free Arnold, Andre was caught, imprisoned in the '76 House structure and hung at a nearby gallows in town. I've spoken to many workers and about "paranormal events" they have witnessed. I saw recorded video of moving chairs and silverware overnight when the restaurant was closed.

    2) Kings Park Psychiatric Center(Kings Park, NY) - abandoned Campus that had multiple buildings as a self-contained mini-town or campus for the patients of mental illness and other medical issues and the many works, doctors, nurses and staff. 2 investigations produced footage that was outside of the normal......A disconnected water main wheel that spun without power.....too heavy to be wind and 3x stopped upon verbal request. Manually stopping it actually stopped it...for a while and when it started again, did not start slowly but started at the speed it continued at as if a unseen force propelled it at a stable speed with no acceleration. Disembodied voices heard and recorded.....some recording were captured when nothing was audible to our ears at the time. 2 doors moved upon did flashlights without human hands.

    3) Eastern State Penitentiary - My wealthy friend got us a nice 12 hour overnight stay. He paid someone off but then all we had to do was sign the waivers. A lot...... Personally saw what lookde like a dark figure with no physical features and face-on (meaning not out of the corner of my eye). Recorded voices that were not heard when asked the questions but caught on the recording. Disembodied voices heard real-time" ........sighs or breaths that sounded only inches from my ear. Doors of metallic doors closing.....footsteps with noone presenet and more.

    4) Huntington, NY residence - Owned by a former co-worker of my mother-in-law. Many reports by the family but what I witnessed overnight.: 1) 2 doors opening and closing with noone around and no AC or house fan on; 2) faucets turning on and off in hallway bathroom; 3) odd spikes and drops of electro-magnetic frequencies accompanied by sudden drops in temperature......would return to normal after a minute......especially in the kitchen; 4) kitchen cabinets opening and closing & items on the counter recorded moving with noone present; 5) 1 disembodied voice (inaudible word followed by a soft moan) and 2 recordings of answers to questions that were not heard by human ears at the time. Electrician and plumber called and neither could physically explain the anomalies.

Debunked: 2 houses with lesser but "odd" claims. Trifield meter detected high baseline readings of electromagnetic frequency. Very high to the point it could affect vision, balance, hallucinations. Reason: Wiring in the basement of the house. Both houses had the same problems. Sounds w/o humans heard also debunked in 1 house as mice behind the walls.

This is just a few. I am not say they are supernatural but definitely paranormal.....meaning outside the normal of measured physical possibilities.

I have some pictures (not by me) of the inside, taken recently as the pavilion is reputedly abandoned and on sale. This house was certainly an Art Nouveau masterpiece in the days of its splendor, with many stained glass windows :

Here's a picture of the outside I took in May, while in the Romanche valley :

    Yup, I got some stories.
At my job, a natural/organic food distribution center, we used to see what I called 'The Blue Boy'- it was a 5-foot tall person in full dark blue freezer gear going through the cooler part of the warehouse into the freezer. This was seen by many people over the course of a few years. Could never pin an identity to who this was, as no one (at that time- current or ex-employee) had died, so I assume it was a residual haunting of someone still alive, strange as it may seem.
In that same cooler area (eggs, diary, cheese, yogurt products) we had the odd dark shadows going here and there. Never felt threatening and was kind of a 'cool' experience, lol.
Then the warehouse underwent a doubling-in-size expansion, and the cooler became two coolers, each with two long rows of products. The new cooler part became cheese and milk only, and in that area we had a very bad spirit. You would be in there (at dark o'clock at night, with just a few of us working this shift) and would start to see out of the corner of your eye a very bight white spot either in your aisle or through the pallet rack in the other aisle. This was followed by a very powerful sense of 'GET OUT OF HERE!". The longer you were in there, the stronger this feeling. It would become almost a panic to many, myself included! This went on maybe once a month for about 2 years, then ended when the warehouse again doubled in size (actually tripled in size, as we bought out some land). Those of us still there now refer to this as the 'White Light in the Cheese Cooler'. All activity has since stopped at the job, except for about 12 years ago...
...I was on a rider jack (a 'powered industrial truck') taking it, not surprisingly maybe, to the old cheese cooler, which is now our battery room for our equipment. As I am driving down the very long aisle to enter this room, I see a small white spot some 40+ feet up in the air moving along as well, but maybe 60 feet in front of me. I clearly see it, and wonder what it will do when it gets to the end of the aisle. I will eventually have to turn right to get to where I am going, and this white spot has gone beyond that and has to turn left. It does, in fact, make that 90-degree turn left. The whole time from start to finish was maybe 5 seconds, but it did happen. The fact that it made a left turn (and I was still going straight and watching it) proves it was not some weird reflection off my belt buckle or something, lol.
Then at the Gettysburg Hotel in 2010, the neat old hotel built in 1797 right on the NE corner of the town square. Anne and I were staying on the 4th floor, and she had gone to bed. I stayed up and laid on the couch in the ante-room watching tv, facing her and the bedroom. About a foot from the tv are a set of french-doors to that bedroom. I clearly watch a large white spot go from left to right at the foot of the bed, moving slowly, like a person gracefully walking around the bed would. I mentioned it to her the next day, and she said 'Of course! I told them they could come visit us.'. I told her not to do that, lol.
In 2015 when my American Eskimo, Shasta, had to be put down at the very good age of 17, a few days after I clearly heard her usual footsteps go from the bedroom to the entrance to our den, where I was watching tv. She did this all of the time, when she woke up from a rough day of taking a nap, or to see if I had some snacks she could scrounge from me, lol. A few days later, that next weekend after she passed, Anne and I were sitting on that same couch watching tv and we both heard it again. We were actually in the middle of a conversation and stopped and both looked, and fully expected 100% to see her stick her head around the corner to see what we were up to.
My three granddaughters seem to attract ghosts. There have been sighting of a little girl and an old man in 'old style' clothes and things flying around the room, one such instance took place during a zoom session for high school last year. Yes it was seen by the other zoom members! The topic was 'ghosts' and someone said they didn't believe and it was all fake, and at that point (behind my granddaughter) an object went flying behind her and crashed stuff off her dresser. There was a pause of shock, and they asked what that was, and my granddaughter said "you said you don't believe, so you wouldn't believe me if I told you!".

    Wow, long-winded! Sorry 'bout that.
