    Hello there,
Can someone tell me what it would approximately cost to get a hollowbody refinished by a pro?
I want a yellow Gretsch really really bad!
I´m super unhappy with my 5420 so i thought about selling it and getting another 512o for refinish with that money.
If someone knows please let me know, have a great day!

What about saving a little longer... then putting the cost of a refinish along with selling towards a Lime Gold Hot Rod? I know it’s not bright yellow but you’d likely be happy playing wise.

    What about vinyl wrap?

I love that color!! But would need to be one of the old ones because the misplaced volume knob is bugging me way too much :(
The old lime golden hot rods were perfect imo!!
I never considered vinyl wrap until now, sounds like a good idea!

I'd keep an eye for an old model then! I think you'd be happier in the long run as the refinish would likely be temporary satisfaction IMO. I see them (in the US of course) pop up here and there for reasonable prices.

They´re kinda rare here but that would probably be the best thing to do

I have a guy in Minnesota that paints, guitars. He is pretty good, and has done many guitars for the stars. I don't think it is OK to say who it is on here. He also builds guitars. But he can answer your questions, and do the job. Message me if you are interested.

Curt Wilson at Old School Guitars on the GDP does good refinishing work.

Under no circumstances be tempted by a guy named Randall Sims of Sims Custom Shop in Nashville. You'll be lucky to get your guitar back after paying full up front.

Thanks for the suggestions but getting it done by someone in the us would probably be way too expensive

Getting the finish off and refinishing the guitar professionally will cost you more than buying a new 5120.
