I live in a crowded house, wife, daughter, son in law, two granddaughters, two dogs and two cats. My escape, a single bay in a three car garage that is all mine...YES MINE! I do projects out there and play guitar out here. I love to put stuff up I like looking at...My garage art, if you will. Much of it is from my past. Anybody have any fun garage art? My world Hu
Some cool things there, I like the license plates, would have a heap of garage/shed art if I had the space to do it.
License plates are a must! Must be nice to have a garage that you can be in year round. When it's -20F here, the garage isn't a great place to be. Mine's decorated in suburban clutter.
A friends daughter moved out here to California a few years ago and when asked what was different out here. She said nobody parks their cars in their garage in Calif.
Not mine - it belongs to my buddy. We started restoring one of his cars when covid hit so not much work done this year. Plus, living in a cold climate means no work in the winter. There is other art as well but when I took this before the question came up. A prize picture (not shown) is one of his father as a WWII pilot in Italy with his bomber and crew.
Admin Post @radd , one thing I really miss is a garage . When I bought my house 15 yrs ago , it's the one thing it didn't have ( besides a basement ) I'm on a slab , ranch . I miss my man cave big time . One of my favorite things to do in the Spring and Summer months when cruising at Animal Control , is to drive by peoples houses with their garage door open and to see what kind of " stuff " they have in the garage ....... you got cool stuff my friend
Found another picture of his 'Garage Art' note the hanging T-Shirts from various Corvair Conventions. And his sweetheart:
Cool man space, but it looks like you need more! We are insulating and dry walling our garage, so I will be setting up a tool project space - I like how you have decorated! I set up in my basement so the drums are muted for the neighbors.
I can't remember ever having a garage in which I could work. Growing up as a little kid in Illinois, remember a little more space in the garage, but even in snow country we had the car in the driveway. After moving to California, the cars stayed in the driveway and stayed pretty warm in the winter . . . an the clutter in the garage grew. As an adult, and living in Southern California, I pretty much followed the same pattern, although I would try to find some pattern of organization, even though it didn't last long. radd, I admire you greatly for the organization of the space, and the mementos that tell of a life well lived.
At my most overindulged time in my 50 yr motorcycling career I owned 4 motorcycles at once. I could be found many a time just sitting in the garage with a cup of coffee or a beer admiring them. Motorcycles are great art! A book from my bookshelf Try to tell me this is not art
Big improvement for me. I like 12” radius, medium jumbo frets and the wider 1.68” nut, rather than the 1.65”. It is also slightly thicker. It is just a standard mim neck that Fender offers. It did come with a nice satin finish on the back but the fingerboard was a super high gloss, I knocked that off.
