    Hey Guys,

Just read an email from Gretsch to show the new G6228TG models, looks like a good thing for all those who love the G6228 but want a bigsby (B7 but still a bigsby).

all the colours are great and I love the walnut stain but me personally would want nickel hardware not gold but any way, exciting news.

The G6228 is great. Nice to see some new color options. I’m not crazy on gold hardware on it as well. And I actually prefer the V tailpiece over the B7. I’m sure it’ll play and sound great though.

I had a 6228, great guitar. I think the best Bigsby setup for the 6228 is with the Towner Bar

I like that set up a lot better, it doesn't seem as cluttered to me, the silver hardware just looks so good.

Probably lighter too. Although I’m sure someone on here could confirm any weight difference.

Good point, wouldn't mind knowing how heavy bigsby's actually are.

I think the Towner system strengths are that it requires no irreversible modifications when converting a non Bigsby guitar and you can adjust the break angle off the bridge by raising or lowering the bar.

Yes please, feel free to send me all three.:D:p Is that a retro style spelling on the headstock or something new?

Yeah, the headstock writing is a retro thing. They appeared in early '50s models, which you can see on the 53 Vintage Select Duo Jet. They're aptly nicknamed "Scripty Jets" because of, well, the swirly script.

Beautiful!! I occasionally miss the Bigsby on my 6228, but then again I have a 5420 when I need that fix.

Love the script logo. I find the body a bit busy and overwhelming aesthetically. I am not a fan of Roccoco style.

I prefer this look, more elegant imo.

I think this may be the best way to avoid using a B7.
