Still need a case for mine. Fortunately the person I traded for it tossed it in a gig bag, but I’m the person who hates taking them out of the house without a case.

had a jack plate added to my 6120tb-de bass just today.

as far as strap locks - we all can’t agree on which type we like, so aftermarket is the only solution.

I cannot understand why anyone would put a hollow body guitar into a gig bag. And don't get me started on jack plates and strap locks!

A gig bag doesn't offer much protection from impacts, but it keeps the guitar clean. That's my main concern, as someone who doesn't gig. Maybe they should call a hard case a gig bag, and a gig bag a home bag.

My G2164 gig bags arrived today... and for anyone considering them, I'd say don't bother.

I had really low expectations (see quote above), and I still managed to be disappointed by how poor they are. And that's even taking into account that I got them for 20% off the usual price.

Gretsch should be embarrassed to have their logo on these bags.

Whenever I take my 5120 or ES-295 out of the house, it goes in a gig bag. I’m a working musician, and the less trips I have to make from the car, the better. I do use padded gig bags, not the cheap, flimsy ones. The only time I use a hard case is if I am flying (gate check) or the instrument has to go in a trailer with a bunch of other gear.

After reading this I looked into getting one of those case and they aren't much cheaper than Gretsch. I kept looking and found one that fits a Les Paul. After checking the internal specs and measuring my Jet I bought one. $62.99. I'll have it Monday. It's from a place called TheLAStore.com. I'll.post photos and a review of the case then.

The new case came in and it's not bad for a $62 case. Internal length is good and so is the lower bout. The upper bout is a bit tight but it'll work itself in. I'll post pix later today
