After literally TONS of back and forth between the Vox AC15C1 or a multitude of different Fender amps, I FINALLY landed on the Fender 68 Custom Deluxe Reverb.
I was going back and forth between the Vox AC15C1 Special edition with a Creamback, 65 reissues, the Princeton line, and the 68 Deluxe. I let the price tag initially make the decision for me and came home with the Vox last week. After playing it for a week, all I could think about was the reverb on the 68 Deluxe. So I returned the Vox today (Thank you Guitar Center for the 45 return policy) and brought home this beauty.

I did really love that Vox but not nearly as much as this. I’m going to have dreams about that reverb. And I love the two different circuits on this amp. Something the 65’s don’t offer.

Anyway, I know I’m a bit of crazy person for all the back and forth, and I’m sure the Vox purists are really going to hate me. But this will be my one amp that I own for many many years! I’m so pumped!

Congrats, nothing wrong with taking a deluxe reverb over a vox, both fantastic amps but you like what you like..

One buys and plays an amp and guitar that inspires them.

    That's all that matters really.

I so get it. I just found my “forever” amp and spent months comparing different models. I even had a spreadsheet to keep it all straight.
Congrats and wishing you endless hours of musical bliss!

I went with a Magnatone Varsity Reverb. Found a screaming deal on a used one.

Wish I could afford one right now. Always loved Deluxe Reverbs.

Totally get it. I went through a similar thing with acoustic amps. Have fun! I'm still dreaming about a Vox at some point.

I love my Vox, but there's no way I'd have one if I didn't already have a Deluxe Reverb. Essential amperage, imho.

    Congrats on new amp!

Vox are not the same as the early ones built in Dartford, UK.

Funny thing is, in the late '60s, I worked in a London music shop that specialised in used gear.
Everyone wanted Marshalls then, and we were overcome with secondhand AC30s nobody wanted anymore.
Just to clear them out, we advertised a AC30 sale in the Melody Maker. No reasonable offer refused. If I remember correctly, some went for as little as £25.
    If only we'd known!

I have one. It's a great amp. Nice cleans and cranked to rock. Very versatile.

Sweet! I had a 68 Custom Deluxe - it was a great amp, just too loud for me at the time. I couldn't get it to break up.

I ended up going with the Vox AC15 handwired because of the built-in attenuator. The Vox is one amp I'll never be without.

    Both are great though!
